Ripped Wings
The pain flowing through my veins
As he ripped my wings from my back
Blood pouring down my smooth back
My vision blurs…I see nothing
“Why?” I whisper to him
“Because I love you”
he said these words, but didn’t mean them.

He tore a part of me away
For his own play
My pain
Is his laughter
My screams
Are not in vein
“Why was it my beautiful wings?”
“So you can no longer fly, but stay with me.”
All I could do was cry

He wiped my tears and he held me
Close so I could hear, his silent
Heart beat

He tickles me to make me laugh and
Shows me my wings are not gone, but
Only just starting again
The tiny bit of hope I had
Is now bigger
Because I can fly again
With each caress of his fingers.
